The Man Behind The Reviews

Who am I? A fine question to be sure. I have been called many things in my life, but never late for dinner. I am a 28 year old guy with a strong appreciation for a good meal. I also have a high regard for the dining experience as a whole. Let me give you some background so you know why.

Our family has always had a love for food. My great grandparents on my dads side were Italian immigrants. My great-grandmother cooked quite a bit. She would have people over for spaghetti and homemade meatballs or she would make homemade pasta fagioli. My father inherited her passion for cooking. And her recipes. My mother is also a great baker and cook. She baked pies and cakes for restaurants and weddings for as long as I can remember. She also went to culinary school. Essentially, I have been exposed to cooking since I was just a baby. And my parents encouraged it. They wanted to make sure that my siblings and I were able to feed ourselves. That mutated into a great passion for feeding others for me. I love to entertain.

I also worked in the food service industry, which led me to truly understand all aspects of the dining experience. I have seen good waitresses and bad. I have worked with cooks that don't know the difference between a slotted spoon and a bread knife. I have also had the pleasure of teaming up with some cooks that treat food as art. I have dined in everything from dingy little hole-in-the-walls to way out of my price range restaurants  I have eaten out of food carts and walk-up windows. I have eaten from the questionable to the delectable.

This blog is not all about food though. I will also be reviewing events and such. On all that, I will merely give you what I did and observed. I have been trying to think what makes me qualified to review a trivia night, for example. I guess the answer is that I'm just a guy who was there. I saw it so I can talk about it.

Now, does this all make me an expert? Not by a long shot. But it makes me honest and well versed. In this blog, I'll call them as I see them. So, I hope you enjoy what I bring to you with each post. Comments are always welcome.
